TIRYAK BHUJANG AASAN


Type of Aasana : Basic/Intermediate

Basic Position :
Viparit Shayan Stithi i.e. Lying on the stomach . Legs Joined to each other at knees and also at foot and placed on floor. Palms next to buttocks facing downwards . Chin on the floor. Sole of feet facing the sky. This is basic Viparit Shayan Stithi.


How to do the Aasana :
1.Put fore head touching the floor . Take 1 ft distance between legs.
2.Bend arms so that the palms are next to chest and close to chest .
3. Lift your chin, chest upwards by using most arm muscles . Arms remain straight at  elbow. This is critical to this aasan.   Look straight .
4.Try to lift as much as possible.
5. Remember thigh and hips always remain on floor.
6. Unlike Bhujang aasan in this case legs are locked by leg fingers . This is starting position.
7. Move neck to the right and view left feet.
8. Move neck to the left and view rt feet.
9. This is one round. Do such 5 rounds

Breathing :Inhale while lifting to starting position. Exhale while moving neck to right. Inhale while neck is coming back to centre position.Similiarly repeat for left side.
