KANDHAR AASAN (SHOULDER POSE)

Type of Aasana : Basic/Intermediate


Basic Position : Shain Stithi (Sleeping on Back pose) Sleep comfortably on the back. Legs joined together. Eyes looking at the sky. Both hands  next to buttocks facing downwards  . 


How to do the Aasana : 


  1. Kandhar name comes from kandha i.e shoulder
  2. Start in shain stithi as explained above.
  3. Bring both the feets near the buttok and keep them on the floor. Take little distance between them.
  4. Now with hands clasp the ankles of respective feet firmly.
  5. Inahle and Now raise buttock and back such that the chest will automatically go and touch the chin.
  6. This is final position. 
  7. Do antarkumbh in this position count om1,2,3,4,5
  8. While lowering the back and buttock exhale 
  9. This is one round 
  10. Do such 5 rounds.

Breathing :Inhale while lifting up. Retain breath or antarkumbh while maintaining final position. And exhale while coming down. 
If you are maintaining the final position for longer time then breathe normally.
