NAUKA SANCHALAN AASAN ( ROWING THE BOAT POSE )

Type of Aasana : Basic/Intermediate

Basic Position : Baithak Stithi. Both legs straight and joined .Hands at the back supporting the trunk palms facing down.



How to do the Aasana : 


  1. Imagine that you are rowing a boat.
  2. Clench hands as if you have rowing stick in hand. Palms shoud be facing down always both when you are rowing boat forward or backward.
  3. Keep hands next to ears.
  4. This becomes the starting position.
  5. Take breath.
  6. Breathe out and bend forward from the waist , straighten the arms take it close to legs.
  7. Breath in and bend back as much possible and bring hands back to folded arms position next to ears.

Breathing : Inhale while bending back and exhale while moving forward. 


Variations :
Keep distance of 1 ft between legs. Do rowing for right foot and then for left foot. Maintain same breathing as above.
