Type of Aasana : Basic/Intermediate
Basic Position : Baithak Stithi. Both legs straight and joined .Hands at the back supporting the
trunk palms facing down.
How to do the Aasana :
- Imagine that you are rowing a boat.
- Clench hands as if you have rowing stick in hand. Palms shoud be facing down always both when you are rowing boat forward or backward.
- Keep hands next to ears.
- This becomes the starting position.
- Take breath.
- Breathe out and bend forward from the waist , straighten the arms take it close to legs.
- Breath in and bend back as much possible and bring hands back to folded arms position next to ears.
Breathing : Inhale while bending back and exhale while moving forward.
Variations :
Keep distance of 1 ft between legs. Do rowing for right foot and then for left foot. Maintain same breathing as above.
