SUPTA UDARAKARSHAN AASAN (SPINAL TWIST POSE)

Type of Aasana : Basic/Intermediate


Basic Position : Shain Stithi (Sleeping on Back pose) Sleep comfortably on the back. Legs joined together. Eyes looking at the sky. Both hands  next to buttocks facing downwards  . 


How to do the Aasana : 


  1.  bring both legs close to buttocks by bending knees. Sole of both feet should be on the ground.
  2. Knees and both feet should be joined together
  3. Clasp both hands together and keep it below the head.
  4. While exhaling turn both knees which are joined together to the right, turning should be  from the hip. Now right knee is on the floor and left knee is on right knee.
  5. Now move your head towards left and look at left elbow.
  6. This is final position . Do bahir kumbh. Count om1,2,3,4,5
  7. While inhaling raise knees to initial position and turn head to centre .
  8. Similarly do on left
  9. this is one round
  10. do such 5 rounds.
